Amanda Coleman

Project description

After 13 years with the same identity, Amanda commissioned a rebrand to mark the opening of her first retail studio in Lincoln — a moment to refine her positioning and more fully reflect the values behind her work.

The brief held a deliberate tension: highly decorative, nature-inspired jewellery rooted in traditional goldsmithing, but with a contemporary edge. Early stages focused on clarifying and articulating that balance — shaping a direction that felt both distinctive and true to who Amanda is.

The resulting identity centres on an intertwined botanical monogram, drawing on the same visual language as the jewellery itself — flora and fauna that regularly appear in her work. Personal details were woven in throughout: an iris named after her daughter, and a raven motif as a quiet nod to a shared appreciation for shiny things.

A genuinely collaborative project, the identity and interior were developed together from the outset. The brand extends across wallpaper, signage and printed materials, with window lettering finished in traditional gold leaf by a specialist signwriter. The result is a cohesive studio environment where a rich palette of teal, burgundy and gold positions Amanda as a contemporary maker with deep roots in craft tradition.
